The 2nd Chronicle

Dear Family & Friends!

Can't believe I'm almost done with my stay at the MTC! Our "Parent" District (or District B, Branch 36) just left today for Arizona. So sad :( But also super exciting!! We'll miss them. They were such a joy to meet and be with over the last few-ish weeks. Wrote a letter to all the Sisters and Elders from District B and they loved that. We did get to have a Zone Volley-Ball Game and Zone Four-Square Match before they left though which was SO fun! Nothing like talking some ‘smack' and having a good time XD

I keep running into Sister MayRee Burgess who is here at the MTC too! Super fun to see a familiar face and hear some good old sass.

Went to an incredible devotional last Tuesday where Elder Kevin R Duncun (from the seventy) came and spoke to us. We got to be the very first ones to see the brand new TRAILER for a whole new "film series" about the Book of Mormon! They will be rolling out over the next 5-years a total of 60 (15-min) videos. They look AWESOME!!

Also check out this video on Youtube about the #531 (as in the 531 pages of the Book of Mormon) experiment... so cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2JiB9eTHtg. We watched a different version at the devotional but this one is great too =)

I got new companions! Elder Daniel Spencer and Elder Matthew Carey. While being in a TRIO has it's challenges both my comps are amazing and it's been fun to get to know and serve with them better.

Still a District Leader and loving it! I enjoy getting to lead devotional debriefs, get the mail, look out for my district, and find ways to serve all in the district.

Got to practice with the MTC Choir!!! We are singing "Hope of Israel" tonight. Our director is amazing. Tells jokes, spiritual stories, and shares background to the songs. Love him! Such a powerful experience to sing with that many missionaries (there are more people in the MTC choir than the Mormon Tab)

Learning even more than ever the power of technology and have loved the chance to really dive into Gospel Library and all the tools and resources it has. Could spend days studying in just that one app... so if you really haven't used the Gospel Library, highly recommend.

Also, watched another amazing talk from Elder Bednar (again, not in person but recorded) He shared "How to Recognize the Spirit" and essentially said in response to the common question “Is it me or the Spirit?"... STOP WORRYING ABOUT IT! Just be a good boy, be a good girl and as you take action your steps will be lead. As long as you are doing something good, no need to worry if it's yourself or the spirit. So! Amen to that :D

I got to see Joel Elliott's mom, Krislyn, today in the Provo Temple! If I hadn't been looking in the direction I had been, I would have totally missed her. So so cool! God really does care about all of us and the details of our lives. I've seen that so many times in the MTC as things line up perfectly. Very glad I got to see her :D

THEY FLEW THE ICELAND FLAG AT THE MTC!!! I've been checking every day to see if the Iceland flag was flying or not and so you can imagine how pumped I was when I saw it! I took a ton of pictures... enjoy!

Not to mention the fact that I ran into an Elder Nathan Embrey, and guess what?!? He was assigned to go to Iceland (as apart of the Denmark Copenhagen Mission)!!! He'll be the first one to go there in the last 9-months. Like I said before, there are only 8 missionaries in Iceland right now. Also, found out that a cute senior couple is going there too (they're in the MTC right now)! How cool is that!?! Elder Embrey will be at the MTC for a total of 9 WEEKS before heading out (he is learning Icelandic). So cool to meet him!!! Got pictures and everything :D

To finish, I want to share a good old scripture that I really enjoyed... Helaman 5:12.

Kia Kaha!
