The 15th Chronicle
Hello Family & Friends!
Piomo and Barack were baptized yesterday! Literal miracles involved throughout everything. We were barely able to get them a ride from Denison down to Logan (50 min drive). Piomo's father actually got off work, drove through the rain, and came a tad late, but in enough time to witness her baptism (which we didn't think was going to happen at all). Despite no one being in town and some people not even showing up (from the ward) we still had enough to make it work. And... the font ACTUALLY DRAINED! That is a huge blessing in and of itself! Piomo and Barack asked Elder Durocher and I to baptize them. What a beautiful experiance is was to not only be apart of their whole journey but also actually perform the ordinance that they have worked so long for. It's the gate to start down the straight and narrow... they are rocking it!
So Transfers is this week! Sad to say but we have a 100% guarantee that Elder Durocher (my dear and beloved trainer) is outta here. He has served faithfully in Logan for four transfers (about six months) AND has finished training me. So he is leaving! Which means, I am staying in Logan at least two more transfers! I will get my new companion on Wednesday. He will be affectionately called my "Greenie Buster". We also found out on Sunday, at exactly 9 o'clock in the evening, that Elder Durocher is going to be a Grandpa! Which also means I'm going to be a Daddy! President Ence called and shared with me that I get to be a trainer!! I'm freaking out. My boy is already in the mission, fresh from the MTC, and I get to meet him on Wednesday. Super excited!
So, with a NEW Mission President comes a new set of guidelines according to the opinon and style of that said president. This week we just received more access to the tools on Facebook (i.e. Messenger/FB Stories, and Facebook Posts). I think it is awesome that we get to share the gospel through these inspired tools. I know that we all can have such a powerful influence on our "following" and "contacts" by using social media. We can even change lives through showing others what we believe and how we act because of that. (Something to keep in mind when we post). You could even make a missionary's day by sharing something related to the gospel and see the impact grow!
Imagine with me for a second that you get a picture of your house that depicts a gaping hole in the wall with charred wood, black ash, and melted foam. What would you think? Welp, this last week my family's home caught on fire. Crazy right? Serious blessings from on high because everyone was safe and the only causality was a year's supply of toilet paper XD. Big thanks to everyone that was able to be there for my family and help them in that time of need. What a wonderful thing it is to be surrounded by amazing neighbors and friends!! Guess our house had been baptized by water and now it's gotten its baptism by fire! 😆

Note from Christine: The fire chief told us that he had never seen such an intense fire with so little overall damage. I am positively certain that angel’s were protecting our home and especially our food storage where the fire was located. As I have talked to each person that was apart of or witnessed the ordeal, I learned of the countless miracles involved. We feel extremely grateful and blessed, and I am overwhelmed by the Lord’s mercy.
