The 16th Chronicle
Hello Family & Friends!
To quote my trainer, "I'm not gonna lie"...this was a very long week! To start I had the awesome opportunity to go to the Winter Quarters Temple. While there I pondered over the question, "How can I help the Elder I'm training really become a consecrated missionary?" It was super cool to be able to sit and feel of the spirit as I geared up for this wonderful opportunity to train! The next day was transfers! What a contrast to my very first one. It was amazing to see so many familiar faces and give hugs and handshakes to the wonderful Elders and Sisters in this Nebraska Omaha Mission. The feeling there was unmatched as we welcomed the new and gave farewell to the old. When he said my name, I got to run up and hug my boy, Elder Foran, as we officially became trainer and trainee.
I'd have to say the longest part of the week was actually the first three days of training. I kinda felt lost and stressed out. I had the realization that a whole area of people was under the stewardship of Elder Foran and I, and “I" was the senior companion and trainer with all the responsibility! I had to make the tough decisions and make sure we had solid plans. I had to remember all the important details and juggle the to-do's. It sure was an interesting transition. Have no fear though! As of today I'm finally feeling like I've settled into this new and wonderful role. I know I'm gonna really like training! Plus! Elder Foran is awesome! Not to brag or anything but he is from Spanish Fork, Utah and is a rocking scout. He got his Eagle and several palms and then went on to do a ton of Venturing. He also has his Associates Degree already before coming out! This sure is gonna be another sweet transfer in the Logan Area of NOM! #WeMissElderDurocher
Lyn is getting baptized! So excited for her. I loved what she told me the other day. She said, "I feel like I finally found home." She is just so pumped and this Saturday is gonna be amazing! It was cool to take her down with the Dolan's (her ‘fellowshippers') to the Mormon Trail Center in Florence, Nebraska. If you have not been there I highly recommend. The Trail Center Sisters do an amazing job providing the tours and helping people learn more about Pioneer History. Plus, they have a couple lit videos to boot!
I was super excited to see both Piomo and Barack confirmed as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints yesterday! We love them so much and are excited for the decision they have made to follow Christ. Huge miracle too! Piomo's Father (and Mother) came down to see her confirmed. That blew me away. I never thought that would happen. #TheHandOfTheLord
