The 27th Chronicle
Hello Family & Friends!
What a week! It was back to back. It was non-stop. It was emotional. I was finally able to take a breath last night... at least until President Ence called me. More on that later.
To start the week off right we had a blast of a preparation day!! The whole Zone got together for some volleyball and basketball. I was SO sore the next day, and it felt great! That same day we stayed down in Council Bluffs for exchanges with our Zone Leaders. The next day we went straight South for a back-to-back exchange with Glenwood (which was super fun). I got to go with Elder Castell again. I love him! It's fun to see missionaries grow from transfer to transfer. He is an amazing example to me. Plus, he will be training this next transfer! The next day we had District Council in Council Bluffs. We got home only to get up the next day and travel to Denison and then to Harlan the next day. We basically slept in our apartment one night this whole week.
While in Harlan, we said goodbye to our recent convert Ryan Hess (and his wife Ashley). You may remember that they got married back in July. After eating a quick meal and giving the family a lesson about the Plan of Salvation, Ryan gave us a ride in his 2002 Camaro SS. That baby sure could scream! Oh. So. Much. Fun. When you've been limited by TiWi for so long it sure felt nice to be in a vehicle that didn't yell at you for going over 25mph by saying "Check Your Speed". Ryan said to assure my family that we never went over 65mph =P.
This last week or so you may have gotten an invite to the #ChristInChristmas event that Elder Foran and I will be hosting. If you are on Facebook and you have received an invite, we'd totally love it if you would consider attending and sharing with your friends! It's online and simply involves sharing your testimony through social media. If you haven't gotten an invite and would like one, please send me your profile name or 'friend me' on Facebook. You can also search "Christ In Christmas" as well. It's going to be on December 8th! Our purpose is to unite with believers and friends to share with the world how Christ is the foundation of Christmas and also to help us remember the 'reason behind the season'. Check it out!
Sunday was emotional. Jeremy got baptized on Saturday, which was amazing! On Sunday he asked me to confirm him. The spirit was there. I love Jeremy. Ed, Adrian, and Cayden (as well as Ron) came!! I never thought I would see the day. Oh, it was wonderful. The rest of the meeting was just packed with power. So many wonderful testimonies were shared. With this being the last Sunday here, I decided to share my testimony as well. That was special. I've never really been able to be verbally coherent while crying. For some reason though, this time—despite tears of emotion, I was able to bear my testimony of the love that comes from serving others and my knowledge of the Restoration. It was super cool =)
So right around 8 o'clock last night we got a call from President Ence. According to tradition/custom we ALL know that President doesn't call on the Sunday before transfers unless you are becoming a Zone Leader or a trainer. I was so pumped! We have been rooting for Elder Foran to "turn around train" like I had. Here it was! My boy was gonna become a Dad! Then the unexpected happened. Elder Foran will be staying in Logan (like we expected) but he will NOT be training (the unexpected). He is getting his 'greenie buster' who will also be the District Leader. Then President Ence tells me that I am training… AGAIN! Not only that, but I'll be WHITEWASH training in a brand new area. This means President is pulling both Elders out of an area and will be assigning us there. Basically, I won't know anything about the area and neither will my trainee, because, well... he is a trainee! So it's gonna be crazy! Stress! It'll be great. Cheers!
Kia Kaha!
