Hello Family & Friends!

Thank you all that participated in the #ChristInChristmas event! We had quite a few people who posted and in turn spread the joy of the season. It was cool to witness another confirming example of the power we have when we unite together to make a difference.

I hope you all have seen the #LightTheWorld initiative! They have tons of details up on Mormon.org including videos for each week, a family home evening lesson, ways to share with others, and more! We as missionaries get to pass out #LightTheWorld cards, help people make a plan to serve, introduce people to the initiative, and continue to spread the Light of Christ. It sure helps make this Christmas season a time of service and charity.

Back in Logan, Iowa every time we would see one of our recent converts, she would comment on how white our shirts looked. She would say something like,"Look at how white your shirts are! They are so white! I can't ever keep my shirts that white. I don't know how you do it. They really are SO white!" It makes me feel good to think, if say I failed at everything else, at least I'm doing my laundry correctly enough to get complimented on it! =D Despite the fact that I could have counted a few minuscule stains on each of my shirts, she still complimented them every time. I began to think that she wasn't talking about the "perfect whiteness" of our shirts but rather the light that we as missionaries have. It is a light that comes from becoming more Christlike. I have seen this light many times before. I have seen it in the eyes of a girl who is striving to build a relationship with her Father in Heaven. I have seen it in the eyes of a friend who has pushed to accomplish great things. It is that light that makes someone more beautiful. It is that light that makes someone's shirt seem more white.

I made a tie! When we first got to Hastings we found some fabric left by the other Elders and so today we busted out our sewing skills and each whipped up a tie. Yes, it is a floral but I had to model it for y'all =) I don't think it's half bad and I sure enjoyed getting to learn more about those floppy pieces of cloth that everyone seems to wear around their necks these days.

Kia Kaha!
