The 36th Chronicle
Hello Family & Friends!
Our Mission recently got a new app approved for our phones called "Quality Time". It tracks how often you use your apps, how long you are on them, and how many times you unlock your phone. Then it gives you live feedback and statistics. It has been very insightful for me to see what I'm using my phone for! It has really helped me notice where my time is spent and how I can improve my use of technology. I'd highly recommend. Even if you just did it for a week! Look at the time wasted and time wisely spent and adjust accordingly. I laugh whenever someone tells me they don't have time. We are all given the same 24-Hours. We all have enough time to do what we want. How we use time though is drastically different. If it is important to you it WILL get done. I'm sure we could all be found guilty of spending too much time on our phones and especially on social media. What do you think? How much time on our phones is okay? How much time on social media is okay? Just some thoughts of mine.
We went on exchanges with the York Elders who live in Central City and cover the Aurora Branch. Kinda crazy. They live in a house which is pretty cool. I went with Elder Jacot our District Leader. We had a blast! Mostly just knocked doors and tried potentials. Saw some miracles though! Quite a few people invited us in, while at the same time, quite a few people rejected our message. We got to meet a less-active guy that was super awesome. He used to play football for the Huskers. After he was baptized as a kid, he served a mission for a couple of months. It was interesting to hear his testimony of prayer and scriptures. He told us that it was easy to lose your belief when you don't put in the work. He wants to come back to church though! Happy day!
The saddest thing about our exchanges was the fact that those that rejected us didn't even want to try. We bore powerful testimony and witnessed of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the blessings it can bring. We asked them to read just a page, but they said, "No”.
There are lots of examples in life of where the majority runs one way, and that is when you know to run the other way. If you are attacked for what you believe, know that you are on the right path. You can know for yourself of the truthfulness of the gospel. The church is true. The book is blue. We have a prophet again on the earth today and for that I am so grateful =)
Kia Kaha!
