The 40th Chronicle
Hello Family & Friends!
It has been a week of changes. I've been transferred to the Winter Quarter's YSA here in the Omaha Zone. We cover the whole Omaha Stake and all the single amigos that live here. The best way I can describe it is this: My job is to find cute girls and fly looking dudes (my age), get their number, invite them to activities, and teach them the gospel. It's a party!! The work is so different here. Obviously we want to help (and teach) everyone we meet, but it's more limited. If we find anyone not single between the ages of 18-30 then we have to refer them off to other missionaries. Sure is making my brain hurt trying to rethink missionary work as I've known it to be in past areas.
The next change is that my new companion is Elder Bocchino! He is my trainer's (Elder Durocher) first trainer which makes him my Grandpa. That has also been a party. Never a dull moment with Elder Bocchino. We are going to rock this transfer by being obedient, diligent, and focused on the work. Despite our limitations it will be great to get creative and continue to serve the Lord in this area.
Last big change is that I've been assigned to serve as a District Leader. Wahoo! I'm excited to serve the Elders in my district, facilitate discussions, work hard with them, and see miracles. We will get to go on exchanges with the Zone Leaders this week and then the other Elders in our district later in the transfer.
We met some amazing people this week! One idea we've been working on is finding people by going to the mall. Weird right? Lots of young single people there!! Had some good lessons and conversations with people about the gospel and have helped people start reading the Book of Mormon. So blessed!
Kia Kaha!
Elder Brady
From Christine: Elder Brady didn’t send any photos for this week, so I thought you might enjoy this photo from back in August2018 during Transfers. This is a 5-generation photo of Elders and their trainers. From left to right: Elder Foran (son), Elder Brady (dad), Elder Durocher (grandpa), Elder Bocchino (great grandpa), and Elder AP (great great grandpa--I can’t remember his name). Austin’s new companion is Elder Bocchino.
Also, here are a few photos I snagged from the NOM Facebook page from the recent transfers:
