The 44th Chronicle

Hello family and friends!

We had Zone Conference with President and Sister Ence this week. It was combined with the Omaha, Papillon, and Council Bluffs Zones. Loved all the trainings! Of all the topics we discussed we focused on how we can be more unified as a mission. We realized that we must first start with our companionship then district then zone to accomplish that. We made some plans to provide more communication, foster charity, and cultivate a sense of oneness. I really appreciated Sister Ence's training on repentance and how important it is to continually repent. "Repentance is not the backup plan ... it is the plan!"

I've loved getting to serve as a District Leader. Our district rocks! We're pretty small (only three sets of Elders... including Elder Bocchino and I) but we still have a good time! I'm impressed at how we've been able to work hard, strive to be obedient, and continually improve our skills. One thing that was super cool from this last week was that I got to give a baptismal interview. Not only am I excited for the Elders who get to help this person be baptized but also for the baptismal candidate in their preparation and decision to do so. #BaptizeNations

Many of you know how much I love to play soccer, and if you didn't know that I must be doing something wrong because SOCCER IS LIFE. After I stopped playing competitive soccer, before my freshman year, I haven't really played much since (besides a season in a rec league). Basically, it's been awhile since I've played! Anyways, last week for a YSA activity they played soccer so we invited some non-members and went. It was SO much fun! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that. It brought beams of light to my soul. I don't know why I like soccer so much but the passion is there and I must satisfy it =)

Okay, okay so our upstairs neighbor (we live in a smaller apartment complex) invited us over to play pool with him the other night. We've talked to him a couple times. We thought, "Hey! Maybe he's YSA. That would make this a SWEET first lesson opportunity." So we played! Turns out that despite the fact that he looks 30 he is almost 44. Awkward. Long story short it was super cool to play pool with him because while he isn't YSA we did get to share some of the gospel. Incredible guy. My favorite part was the tips he gave me to improve my skills in pool. He helped me realize that my stance was off balance, that I was hitting the ball with power rather then precision, and that I needed to lower my line of sight to be more accurate with my shot. It taught me to be humble. It reminded me that we can learn something from everyone. As well as applying it to life, if we don't have the right stance or footing we'll be knocked over. So whether we are playing pool or living life let's make sure to have a sure footing on the rock of Christ.

Kia Kaha!
