The 47th Chronicle
Hello family and friends!
You won't believe what happened! I got an email last week from the Church's marketing department informing me that they have selected me for a special assignment. Can't share any crazy details yet but they are working on a new film series to capture and share the stories of exceptional missionaries across the globe. I'll be apart of a team of missionaries that have experience working with videography and photography. I get my travel information tonight and they'll let me know where I'm for sure going. It sounds like we'll be in Boston, MA for a couple of days and then we're off to hit England (and a few other places in Europe) for the remainder of the project. I'm so excited! I can't believe it. Oh! And, something else I forgot to mention is it's April fools.
So this week was crazy!! We spent most of Saturday and Sunday helping out with flood relief for the victims of the great midwestern states flood. We got all geared up in safety glasses, masks, Tyvex suits, rubber boots, gloves, and the works. We helped clear out homes and basements full of debris. The devastation is nuts! We were in Winslow, NE for most of it. It got to 4' 8'' in the basement and about 2' on the main floor. In other areas of Nebraska the flood covered entire homes. I felt blessed to have been able to go and help those affected. Nothing like lending a strong hand and a listening ear.
I can't explain how excited I am for General Conference!! I love getting to enjoy the inspirational talks, the spiritual vibes, and the motivational promptings of the Spirit. It will be a weekend of notes, conversations, and revelation. Let me know what your favorite quotes are!
Remember Morgan (name has been changed)? She is getting baptized this Sunday after General Conference! It has been such a cool experience seeing her come closer to her Father in Heaven as she has learned more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and come to align her will with the will of God by following His commandments. She has been able to attend church, come to family home evening, visit the trail center, come to Bishop's home for dinner, play volleyball with our YSA group, receive the lessons, come to service, and live the commandments (some of which are hard for her). This is all about becoming. I can't expect to help Morgan live the Gospel if I am not. We can't lift her higher than we already are. That's why it's so important for me to become and improve everyday as we are able to help her do the same. What a blessing it is to serve a mission.
Kia Kaha!
Elder Brady
