The 48th Chronicle
Hello family and friends!
I "cried wolf" last week with a good old April fool's joke (you're welcome), but that means that when I share this week's ACTUAL happenings you may not believe me. To start things off we had interviews, district council, and exchanges all on the same day. Pretty hectic but amazing. We went with the Winter Quarter's Elders (Elder Holden & Elder Brindley). I got to go with Elder Holden and we had a blast working together!!
Flash back to interviews, President Ence asked me if I was still doing well with my current responsibilities as District Leader, but more specifically with helping a struggling companion. I told him, “Yes". He said, “Very good". He then mentioned that there might be some changes coming soon (I'm thinking in a couple weeks) and to be prepared for them. Well, in the middle of a member dinner (later that evening on exchanges), I got a call from President informing me that Elder Bocchino and I were being emergency transferred and semi-reassigned to the Walnut Creek Ward to cover the Walnut Creek area since one of the missionaries there had just gone home for medical reasons. So now we are in a trio with Elder Burton (who is a stallion, btw).
Also, there were recent Omaha Stake changes of last week in which the two YSA wards in Omaha were combined into one (the combined Ward now covers all four Stakes including the new Stake just created. That means we cover (with the Sisters) four Stakes of YSA age members and have the expanded opportunity of finding people to teach all over Omaha (before we just had the Winter Quarter's YSA Ward and the Sisters had the Cold Spring YSA Ward). To add to that, we now also cover a Family Ward which is miles South of where we were before. Did you follow all that? Crazy right?? So at this point, we will be working with a few people we had on date, as well as focusing on the Walnut Creek Ward. Have no fear, my address is still the same (at least for the next couple of weeks), so keep sending those letters.
Speaking of people we have been working with... we've had a rough go around. Noah dropped us. A guy we've been trying to work with cussed us out. Topaz is now on date and looks like she will make it! Blake is on date as of yesterday. We also set a child on date in Walnut Creek, but he might not be ready by then. The worst thing from last week is that Morgan dropped us the day before her baptism and the day after her interview. I'M SO SO SO SAD. We have all been in the dumps because of it. Satan is working so hard on the people we are working with.
General Conference was legit!! What were your favorite quotes?? My favorite part was the overall themes of doing the small and simple things, increasing our obedience/respect, keeping our covenants, and repenting everyday. Get ready everyone cause time is running out and big things are on their way!
Kia Kaha!
