The 50th Chronicle
Hello family and friends!
Wow, what an emotional roller coaster of a week. Nothing like being stressed and on edge all the time. The Lord knows that I love to be obedient, organized, on-time, scheduled, prepared, calm, collected, and perfect. That might be why he put me into a scenario where it is hard to be obedient, difficult to be on time, where days never go as planned (if we even get the time to plan), where I don't feel prepared, and around those who make it difficult for me to be calm and collected. He knows my strengths and my weaknesses. He knows what it'll take to become better. He doesn't want me to coast but to improve. That's why I'm trying to embrace the trial and run with it. It's so cool to see how something so hard can become so cool when we just change our perspective. God is looking out for us. #EmbraceTheStorm
We are so excited for our fun-loving, sassy-talking, faith-building, and gospel-sharing friend of ours... Topeze!! Since the day we met her she has been so willing to make the necessary changes to be prepared for baptism. She has felt the power of the gospel change her life and is so grateful for that. She loves to serve others and make people smile. Her baptism last week was such a blessing to be apart of. I loved getting to see the support of the members and the happiness on her face. The spirit was so strong. Just another testimony that this is the Lord's work and I'm so grateful to be apart of it.
Topeze's baptism was also sweet cause the YSA Sisters were able to attend as well! Since the wards have combined, we've been able to work with them more. They are awesome! They even made an Easter basket for Topeze's baptism... it was great. Our Mission President has recently pushed for Elders and Sisters to work harder on improving their relationships. In the past it seems like Elders and Sisters have looked at each other as competition or an annoyance rather than as partners in the work. I think having been able to work with the YSA Sisters has helped me realize the benefit and power of being unified in our purpose. Shout out to them for working hard and being a great support!
Last tid bit is pretty sweet. We had exchanges with the Zone Leaders last week which was a blast. I got to go with Elder Stokes who is my homie from the MTC. He wasn't in my district or zone but we flew out together and have been in similar areas ever since. It's kinda cool to think of how many memories we've made since then. It was fun to catch up on "old" times. He has seen a lot of success and we killed it for the short amount of time that we had. Happy for him and his opportunity to serve.
Kia Kaha!
