The 53rd Chronicle
Hello family and friends!
We had a very eventful week! On Friday we got to see almost the whole Zone out at the Trail Center to help plant flowers in all of the surrounding beds and walkways. Super fun! I haven't gotten my hands dirty for awhile and it felt amazing. Plus, nothing better than some good old service to bring unity. The next day we were committed to help the local chapter of "The Salvation Army" with their postal food drive. We saw moving truck after moving truck after moving truck pull in with pallets of cans and packaged food. Inspiring! What a touching sight to see not only the combined effort of those who donated, but also all the missionaries and folks at the Salvation Army coming together to help feed those in need. We would cart the pallets to the edge of the truck bed and a fork lift would lower them down. Then we would empty each bag and sort thorough all the food to grab any glass or perishable items. It was a success!
Just a quick snippet to explain the 'check your speed' photo. We have this little box in our cars called TiWi made by the company Inthinc. It is supposed to keep us safe as drivers by tracking our speed, seat belts, and aggressive driving. It can be annoying sometimes but overall is helpful. Anyways... EVERY time you go over the speed limit there is this recorded message of this lady saying "CHECK YOUR SPEED!". So I saw the sign and had to grab a picture!!
We had exchanges with Kanesville this week. It was great! Elder Wansgard is the District Leader of our district so that was fun. We had a good time talking about theater, scouting, life experiences, and such. We did similar things in High School and connected really well so that was sweet. Saw some success and rocked the work!
Last but not least, it was so fun getting to talk to my family on Mother's Day!! I hope you all got to have a special moment whether in person or through technology with your family especially your Mother. I know I'm so grateful for mine and what she has done over the years to build me up into the man that I am now. It sure took a lot of love and patience =)
Kia Kaha!
