The 65th Chronicle
Hello family and friends!
We had a blast at our zone activity last week. We had a popcorn party with icecream and lemonade to boot. We played 9-sqaure and chair soccer which was a hit. It was good to have the whole zone there having a good time. I appreciated the opportunity to meet some of our new zone members and welcome them to Council Bluffs.
We had an uplifting MLC to start the transfer off right. We discussed our baptismal goals, how to encourage obedience, and what we need to accomplish every week to hit our goals. We re-emphasized the importance of hitting Standards of ExcellENCE which is to have two people on date, two people at church, and two new people being taught each week. For Elder Halsell and I, we made our own list of goals as well. Our "focus five" or top priorities are to...
1) Hit standards each week
2) Use the YES list every day
3) Fill the nets of our stewardship
4) Integrate technology into the work
5) Study PMG to continually develop

What's so cool about number three on that list is that we were able to accomplish this just last Saturday. We wanted to make our exchanges more effective, so we decided to set a goal and focus on what we've been asked to complete each day. As we did that with two separate companionships on mini-exchanges, we were able to work with them to find 1-2 new people for each of them to teach. Blessings!
Earlier this week we had a fantastic meeting with the Kanesville Elders and Sister Darrington (who is an 'in house' expert on social media marketing). We discussed how we could maximize the reach and impact of our Facebook page "Come Unto Christ - Council Bluffs." The encouraging part of our conversation was that she was impressed with how well set up our page already was. The exciting part of our conversation was that she was able to give us some powerful tips to improve our system and layout. I've been a witness over and over to the power of technology and social media. We can do great good through these inspired tools. In fact, we've started sharing a video with members that we found on the church website. Pretty inspiring! I'd invite you to check it out and ponder how you can share the gospel online. The video is titled "Welcome Ryan & Natalie". Try finding it on ChurchOfJesusChrist.org or ComeUntoChrist.org
