The 70th Chronicle
Hello family and friends!
It sure was a week of meetings. We had a short Zone Leadership meeting with our Sister Training Leaders and District Leaders right after transfers on Wednesday (and we all know that transfers is a whole meeting of itself). The next day we had Mission Leadership Council. On Friday we had a Mission Leadership zoom call. To finish up on Saturday we had some Church Security Representatives visit our mission to give the local leadership a safety and security training at the Mormon Trail Center. Very informative! The church is definitely a church of meetings, planning, and organization. I think my job is to figure out how to use those meetings most effectively so they are productive and not just a waste of time. I think a huge part of that is preparation for the meeting and then setting goals for how to apply what was discussed.
I wanted to mention that I got to video call my family last week! It sure has been awhile. It turned out to be just my Mom and I talking which I enjoyed. Sounds like she enjoyed it too =) I sure miss one of my very best friends (that is, not forgetting my Father of course)! My mom and I have pretty similar personalities and we definitely think alike. She probably knows me better than anyone else. My Mom has always been one to show her love for me during my highs and lows. Not only does she show her love but she also inspires me to improve. We've worked on so many projects together and we are always asking each other for advice. I trust her with everything. I'm grateful God gave me the parents he did. It's very apparent while being on my mission who really cares about me. More than anyone else it's my family. My sister McCoy has faithfully sent me a letter every week if not every other week for the last year. My other siblings send me pictures, videos, and kind notes all the time. My Dad sends me inspirational scriptures and talks that we discuss. My Mom tries to convince me that I need to call her if not send a voice recording each week since she wants to hear my voice. Family sure gives you some sweet built in best friends!! I think it has opened my mind to the inspired unit of family. God has truly set us up for success if we follow the divinely appointed commandments he has given. Friends may come and go which is how life is supposed to be. We learn from all we come in contact with whether for a moment or for a lifetime. I love that I can always have someone to turn to when I feel alone or discouraged. That is the power of family.
