The 85th Chronicle

Hello family and friends!

We had such a good time caroling last night. The Zone basically just descended upon a lucky local neighborhood to spread Christmas cheer. It turned out well! We had knocked a bunch of doors in that same area only a couple weeks before, but to invite people out to the Nativity Festival the Stake put on. Some were receptive and some weren't. Caroling though, everyone loved it. Nothing better than harmonizing with the Elders and Sisters I love to praise our Savior and spread his light. My favorite part was seeing the smiles on the faces of those we sang to. They were very surprised and visibly touched. I love making people happy.

The members have been so generous to us. We've been given so many goodies it's hilarious. I was pleasantly surprised :) Very kind and very thoughtful. These people barely even know us, but they put in the time and effort to gather us some special treats. Go Nebraska members!

One of the favorite parts of my mission has been growing in the understanding of how the Spirit works. You can do NOTHING without the Spirit. You can't find people to teach. You can't teach those you have found.  No efforts will follow through! You must have the Spirit. It's crazy how quickly the Spirit can leave too. We must take eveything in account and work diligently to keep his influence strong. Oh, and the blessings are immense. When you have the Spirit everything works out for the better. I've been literally warned on the doorstep of an apartment to leave. He will protect us. I've felt a stupor of thought as I tried to study one morning because I was not adequately prepared to receive his guidance. I had allowed distractions to prevail and it was detrimental. He will not be able to give us more until we can receive it. I have also been connected in such a way that the impressions and inspiration just flowed. He will bring things to our remembrance. I have seen the power of the Spirit as we teach. He will testify of what we share. I've needed support in times of struggle and he definitely comforts us in our time of need. So yeah, huge testimony on the importance of the Spirit.
