The 91st Chronicle
Hello family and friends!
This week at Zone Conference we talked a lot about consecration and how that is the missing link between minimal success and massive success. You can be obedient, develop many skills, and have faith in the Lord but still struggle to accomplish what we set out to do. Being consecrated means having both feet in the mission. Being consecrated means focusing on our purpose for being here. Being consecrated means losing ourselves in the work. Being consecrated means having charity for those we serve. It means being diligent. It means consistently striving to please the Lord because we love him. It's doing the right things for the right reasons. It really involves our intent. I really appreciated the trainings from President, Brother Shane Littlefield (Area Missionary Resource), and the Assistants. I'm looking forward to seeing not only our area but our Zone improve over the next few months as we consecrate ourselves completely.
We had a really cool miracle this week! We've been teaching the friend of some recent converts in our ward. He's young but very mature for his age. As we've been teaching him he's expressed how he loves the Book of Mormon and knows it helps him be better. He's stopped swearing, he has started to thumbs down bad videos on YouTube, and comments on inappropriate social media posts with the phrase "This is not good, Jesus wouldn't like this." His example is inspiring =) Anyways, he expressed the desire to be baptized and even though his parents gave permission for us to teach him we didn't know if they would like him joining the church. As we planned and prayed we set up our next lesson intending to talk with his Mom about her son's hope. As we walked in his Mom was right there, and so we asked! She said yes! It was incredible, because she had already talked to her son and her husband earlier that week about it. They felt it would be good. When we asked for what day they wanted to set, she mentioned March 1st and then settled on February 15th. Woah! The Lord is good and we'll l boast in his strength. We're pumped for their family with the upcoming baptism of their son and brother.
